I wish we had known that the hostel was on the third floor before booking, but we probably would have booked anyway. Getting in to the hostel requires you to ring two doorbells to get two different doors to open before you can even go up the stairs...and they did not give us the access code to get in, and we had to ring the doorbell every time we came back, usually multiple times. However, the facilities were great -the rooms and bathrooms were clean, and they even give you a lockable cupboard.
For a hostel, and I've stayed at a few, this one was clean, convenient, and secure. What more could you want! All the dorms have lockers, so you don't have to worry about people stealing from you, just remember to bring your own padlock. Walking distance to the Nyugati train station.
- the boy at the reception could be more friendly. he was always grumpy and not very helpful
- if you're staying longer than a couple of nights, the fact that the room doesn't have windows can be disturbing. You don't sleep well.
The location is great, what more can you ask for? You are right in the middle of the city center.
The hotel is generally clean, still, it gets pretty dirty during the weekend and they don't clean it quickly enough.
You have tea, coffee and paste for free :)
I really loved staying here. As I later learned, it wasn't central, but it was steps away from the metro and tram stations, close to several grocery stores, and a short walk to the Danube river. Staff was so awesome about helping you out. The rooms are ample and lockers were free. I'm happy with this place!
I absolutely loved this hostel. I stayed here for over 2 weeks and it was amazing, I have never seen such care taken at a hostel! The sheets and duvet covers were even ironed. The walls and doors were spot less and it smelt amazing! The staff were beyond helpful and kind. There were so many guides and little cards to help with what to do in Budapest. Amazing time in such a beautiful city. The location was also great. So close to the Western train station.
The 2 staff girls were absolutely fabulous (Lilly if I'm not wrong). they worth the stay there. helped us whatever we needed. The place is very well located, the building looks a bit like an old soviet haunted place (but it does count to the experience there!)
This hostel offers cheap accomodation in a very good location in Budapest. It's located by a busy street but the windows are new and can isolate the noise very well so that it doesn't bother you at all. There are plenty of bars and pubs in the area. It's also just a 2-minute walk from a 24 hour shop. It has basic facilities like lockers, showers, fully-equipped kitchen. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they literally saved my butt when it turned out that all hostels in budapest were fully booked for the next night and they made sure I had a place to sleep. I strongly recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a place to sleep and meet other travellers.
